We're All Cyborgs Now (via the Scattering)

Just a quick note to my readers. A loyal fan of the Miscorrection series has been affected by the tornadoes in Alabama. Maybe you could stop by her site, read her post, and offer her some support. The good news is that her spirits appear high, despite what happened.
We're All Cyborgs Now I have no idea if we're news or not, but Tuscaloosa (my sweet home University of Alabama) was hit by a devestating tornado yesterday evening. University operations have been suspended indefinitely, and final exams next week have been cancelled.  It's like a scene from a disaster movie (and the city looks like it).  Someone--either an illiterate fundamentalist (I'm sure we have our share of those) or an ironic hipster (and those)--chalked "Revelat … Read More

Neil first met Sarah late at night in the park.

He'd often get back from work around midnight and he found an evening jog usually helped him relax. As he was jogging the dirt path, a bright light caught his attention out of the corner of his right eye. He decided to investigate and ran off the path into the trees.

After about twenty feet, he made his way out into a clearing of the park. The moonlight illuminated the clearing showing a water fountain with two concrete pillars placed on either side of it. At the fountain stood Sarah, and she bent down to take a drink from it.

"Hello," he said. "I'm Neil."

"Oh, hi. I'm...I'm Sarah" she said shyly. "We really shouldn't talk. I must go soon."

A Long-Held Secret by Millie Vierra

A few weeks ago, I answered some questions on hugmamma's MIND, BODY & SOUL blog. I was thrilled that the site owner, Millie Vierra, contacted me to answer the questions, and I look forward to answering  a few more they sent to me.

I wanted to return the favor, and as is my standard, I asked if Millie would like to write a piece of flash fiction for The Time Capsule. She agreed and wrote the wonderful story below, A Long-Held Secret.

Be sure to post your thoughts on this story in the comments below. And don't forget to visit hugmamma's MIND, BODY & SOUL blog.

A Long-Held Secret

By Millie Vierra

Throwing open the doors we flung ourselves out of the car, shouts of “Race you!” trailing behind us as we bolted toward the beach. Running for our lives, it seemed, I was always the last to reach the rock, our favorite hangout. Rising from the ocean like a small mountain, or at least a big hill, we loved roaming the top of it exploring the thousands of holes, large and tiny, that had been carved out by the sea water. But first, we had to get out to the rock.

They're everywhere.

It's all he sees. Everything is made from them. His eyes pull out, twist, highlight, and imagine the lines. He counts them - adds and subtracts. Even things curved and cirucular contain them; minute, small lines shifting ever so slightly in angle until the curve is formed.

The room was like every other room. The curtains hanging in front of the windows had a rainbow arrangement of flowers printed on them. There were two teacups sitting on the table in front of me that had a floral design. The soft, plush chair, in which I was sitting, was adorned with some sort of multi-colored flower I had never seen before. Obviously, the artist who made the design used creative license, but it was the most pleasing flower to look at in the room.

Interview Regarding Self-Publishing

Quick post to let everyone know about an interview I recently did.

I was happy to hear from the writer of the hugmamma's MIND, BODY and SOUL blog and their interest in having me answer a few questions. In the year or so I have been self-publishing, I've learned a lot. The answers I gave are based purely on my opinion and experience. I hope they can give inspiration to anyone out there with a dream to write and be published.

So head on over and check out the post! The link is below.

Arrogation (Miscorrection)

Arrogation (Book 1 – Story 2)My name is Aaron. Since the attack on Central Market, I have seen a lot of things happen. Among the six planets, the Karhath name became infamous. There are those who have supported their cause. Along with those who support them, there are many who fear the Karhath and wonder if another attack will take place. In my current position, I have taken it upon myself to ensure change will occur. I continually ask myself if my decisions are correct; if they will have the intended effect to bring about the appropriate change. The only way to find out the answer is to do what I feel is best and to be prepared to accept any consequences that come from them, good or bad. — Approximately 11,000 words.

Miscorrection Release Schedule

It's been a crazy few months on the writing and release front. Back in January I released the third novelette in the Miscorrection series, Felix Culpa. Then I started working on the fourth novelette. In between that, on a whim, I wrote and released two short stories, Copy Bird and Going Home. Originally, I had planned to release the fourth Miscorrection novelette at the end of March, but I hit a bump in the road.
