All My Fiction

***UPDATE: Due to eBook submission rules and the time involved with maintaining this book, I have decided to unpublish it. If you were one of the few who purchased the book in the past, I appreciate it. Please contact me with proof of your purchase and I will give you a free gift to show you my thanks.***

What is All My Fiction? It's an experiment in the world of eBook publishing. Why pay each time an author writes a new book? What if you could pay one flat fee and get an eBook containing all works by an author AND their future works, too? That's what All My Fiction is about.

All My Fiction contains all the written works by author B.C. Young. In the future, as B.C. Young writes more stories, he'll add those into All My Fiction. For more details, download the sample of this eBook to your eReader and read the introduction.

Current Version: 3.1 (Nook, iBooks) Updated all Miscorrection stories to match edits made for print edition of Book 1.

Current Version: 4.0 (Kindle, Smashwords) Updated Introduction, added Don't Blink, added Fram Gage and The Infinite Ability excerpt, revised formatting.

Introduction to All My Fiction

© 2011 B.C. Young

Thank you for downloading this eBook. This eBook is unique. Why? Because it contains all my fiction. That’s right, what you have downloaded gives you access to everything I have self-published and access to any future fiction I self-publish. All for the flat fee that you paid to purchase this eBook.

I will say that this is an experiment into a new idea. I came to realize that eBooks are much different from traditional books because an author can fix typos and grammar and upload a new file for readers to enjoy. So I thought, why don’t I release an eBook titled All My Fiction and I’ll put everything I write in the book. Crazy idea, right? When I write more fiction, I’ll update the file and upload it. Then, my readers just need to download the latest version of the eBook, at no extra cost, and they will have the current catalog of what I offer. Instead of paying every time I release an eBook, which I still release as singles, All My Fiction readers pay one time only. Great for you, right?

There are a few things that you should know about All My Fiction. First, if you like to highlight and make notes in your eBooks, you will lose those highlights and notes if you download the new version. There’s no way to avoid this. So if you like to do that, this eBook may not be for you. But, if you just want to read and move on, this should be right up your alley.

Each eBook reseller handles the download of the latest version of an eBook differently. I’ll break this down by the three major players: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords. In each case, just compare the version number on the copyright page of this eBook to the product description on the respective eBook store. This will let you know if you have the latest version of the eBook. If the version number is a whole number, such as “2.0”, then it contains new stories. If the version number is not a whole number, such as “1.3”, this means only the introduction, typos, or other items have been corrected or revised.

Amazon’s policy is the most tedious for readers, but hopefully they fix this in the future. When you know there’s a new story available call Amazon at 1-866-216-1072 or email them at kdp-support@amazon.com and let them know you need the new version of the book. They will then push it to your Kindle. I will also contact Amazon so that they notify you of the newer version. Assuming this works smoothly, you will not have to worry about contacting the at all. You will get an email telling you about the new version and how to obtain it.

Barnes & Noble’s policy is a little fuzzy, but should be easier. This means, from all the information I’ve found, I think the following information is correct, but I can’t guarantee it. Simply delete the book from your Nook and then redownload it. This should give you the latest version.

Smashwords policy is the best. If you purchase from them, they track when you purchased it. Click to download the file on the product page and Smashwords will tell you a new version has been uploaded since you purchased the eBook. Select the update you want and download it. It’s that simple.

Of course, you can know updates are available easier by visiting my site, http://the-time-capsule.com. You can subscribe to the RSS feed on the page so you can automatically know when updates are available.

Now that you know how to get updates, I’ll explain how All My Fiction is organized. First, the table of contents lists every book released under the “B.C. Young” name along with excerpts from other books written under a different pen name. All stories within the eBook, regardless if they are in a series or not, are organized with the longest story in the beginning of the book to the shortest at the end. So it’s best to use the Table of Contents to click through to the story you want to read. At the end of each story, you can click to go back to the Table of Contents.

Finally, if you find any problems with the layout of the eBook, please let me know. If you think there would be a better way to do this, let me know. I’m open to all feedback from my readers because I want to improve the experience for everyone.

Thanks again for downloading this eBook. I hope you enjoy reading the stories available now and the ones you’ll read in the future!
